It’d be tempting to fill this review with references to bulging mussels and other groansome puns, but we wouldn’t want to muscle in on other people’s jokes. Certainly if you enjoy a good scallop every now and again, the world is your oyster at this seafood specialist on Hope Street as there’s more than just mussels on offer (including some non-fish dishes for those who don’t like seafood). Much of the Mussel Inn’s merchandise has been sourced in the teeming waters of the west coast, surely the true home of Scottish seafood, and the restaurant prides itself on using simple cookery methods to preserve the taste and purity of the ingredients. The knowledgeable staff aim to provide a laid-back and relaxed atmosphere, enough to draw even shy diners out of their shells, and the talented chefs are certainly worth their salt(water). And since that’s more than enough seafood witticisms for one review, why not just get yourself down here and sea the cuisine for yourself?
